The Light Side of Carrie White by SelenaEde The Light Side of Carrie White by SelenaEde
So lately, I've been wonderin
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone, you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face
If a great wave should fall
It would fall upon us all
And between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
- - Wherever You Will Go by The Calling

This is based on a "what if" scenario. What if Tommy and Carrie had had sex on their date at the prom? What if Carrie got pregnant from that one time? What if Tommy died at the prom, but Sue Snell helped Carrie get away instead of Carrie dying? What if Carrie had a son?

In this, Carrie is with her young son, whom she named Tommy after his father. She is very loving and kind towards her son, much unlike her mother was to her.

As a fan of Carrie the novel and the DePalma and new movie with Chloe Moretz I can say this is a wonderful alternate version that I'd wish have happened. Brings tears to my eyes! But it's amazing.

Tommy: mommy, why is gamma crazy?
Margaret: because you were born in sin to a demon, you filthy little degenerate. The Book says 'thou shall not bear children outside of marriage,' and your filthy, demonic mother used her witches powers to kill your rapist father-
Carrie: Momma, don't make me paralyze your tongue again.

So sad :( Although honestly I believe this is meant to be a result of an "alternate" fan ending to the tale in which Carrie lives, but all the other fatalities of the movies still occur, including Margaret.

Oh. I like to think carrie let her life. Death was too good for her. First, she had to have a daughter and grandson with telekinesis, then deal with that grandson being born outside marriage, then she can die a slow and painful death.

Carrie would of been a wonderful loving mother and Margret doesn;t deserve her daughter or grandson.

Good thing Margrets dead or she would degrade Carrie even more for having a child outside of marriage and abuse Tommy.

Oh, that's adorable. Such a lovely scene then. They are adorable together. I can't say I know anything about the movie, I greatly dislike the Horror movie genre, but it is a tragedy that such a scene will never come to pass it seems.

The book is superior to the film anyway. It's not so much a horror either, it is far more a tragedy and borderline fantastical cautionary tale.

A little stuffed kitty. The kitty is actually something Carrie made for him out of the remains of Tommy's tuxedo at the prom. Slightly morbid, but after what she's been through, would you expect anything less?

No, I can't honestly say I would.

Eeek, so cute! :aww:

But then I read the 'what if' and I felt sad - the implications of Carrie surviving the prom and having a child not too long after the whole debacle... :(

But then I remembered - happy ending! And I felt good again. :)

She could have been a sweet mom, and caring for the child would have haunted away the ghosts of the past.

Nice possibility.

You know, I was thinking maybe Carrie could have been a crossover with some popular literature by famous writers:
1. Count Dracula's ashes are secretly moved away after the events in Bram Stoker's book and smuggled to America, where he rests for over half-a-century... until he is accidentally resurrected by the blood of Carrie White; her first period in the girls' showers causes the blood to sink into the drain and hit the coffin that is buried underneath the school; the blood mixes with the ashes as it leaks from the pipes, bringing the Count back to life. Stronger than ever before, he plans to turn Carrie into a vampire, to use her powers to help him create a new undead empire under the shadows. Carrie doesn't know it, but she has a psychic link to Dracula, which gives her nightmares later in the night.
Shortly after being revived, Dracula brainwashes the delinquint Billy Nolan into craving the late Renfield's habit of feeding off insects and birds for their blood. When Billy becomes part of Chris Hargenson's plot to get revenge on Carrie at the prom, Dracula orders him to switch the bucket of pig's blood with that of flowers and "gorge [himself]"; Billy is more than happy to, believing that the master has promised him eternal life.
After Carrie is being taken by Tommy Ross to the prom, Dracula seduces his target's religiously insane mother, Margaret White and swiftly turns her into a vampire. Then he moves swiftly to the prom in bat form. While there, before Chris can pull the cord to the bucket, Dracula hypnotises her and leads her away, promting Billy to do the honors before following his master outside. As the flowers pour down from above, the crowd is stunned at first, but later go on in louder applause; Chris' accomplices are outraged and confused, wondering what has happened to the blood; Miss Collins pulls Sue Snell back into the gym, apologizing for what she thought was causing trouble; Snell supposes that Chris did something good, after all.
The next moment, Dracula hypnotizes Carrie during her glory and commands her to use her powers to cause the destruction that would follow, but not before Sue leaves to go home and Chris jumps on stage... as a vampire. The doors are locked, a fire hose goes haywire, Chris sucks the blood off Tommy and a few others, and the whole high school is on fire. Carrie, still holding the flowers and wearing the crown as Prom Queen, slowly makes her way home throughout the chaos.
Billy has seen everything from what has happened and is mortified by what has happened. Realizing that he has been used, he attacks Dracula, but is mortally wounded by the Count. He's found minutes later by Sue, who has survived the carnage. Giving her the pocket knife out of his pocket, he warns her to fetch a crucifix and holy water from the nearest church; find Carrie before he does. Sue wants to know who he's talking about and the last word Billy can utter is "Dracula..." Sue is totally freaked out, but has little time to consider before being attacked by Chris. After a struggle, she manages to stab Chris in the chest. She has no time to lose now.
Carrie, meanwhile, returns home and breaks from her trance to find herself in her room, wondering how she got here. Margaret appears, stating how proud she is to see her daughter as the Prom Queen. After relating to her past, she feels that all this talk of prayer and sin means nothing to her now. She pulls Carrie into an embrace, preparing her fangs for the neck bite. But Carries looks at her broken mirror and finds only her, not her mother, on the reflection. She breaks off the embrace, horrified to see that her mother's a vampire. There is a chase that goes downstairs. Carries searches in vain to find a cross, but the Christian pictures and relics have been removed by the mind-posessed Margaret before recieving her bite. Then, from behind, Carrie meets Count Dracula.
The Count seduces Carrie, explaining his plans for her and what she can do with her full potential. Carrie is unable to fight back. But just as Dracula is about to deliver the bite himself, Sue appears, brandishing a cross in two hands. Dracula and Margaret recoil, snapping Carrie out of her trance. Sue shouts at her to run. Then, Chris, whose injuries weren't deep enough to kill, grabs Sue and makes her drop the crucifix. The full battle commences.
Outside, Sue throws a bottle of holy water at Chris' face, causing her to scream in pain before she finally impales her on the picket fence; she is then attacked by Dracula. Carrie is forced to kill her own mother as she uses her telekinetic powers to throw a kitchen knife at Margaret's heart. Then, she notices Dracula injure Sue and prepare to kill her for her interference. Carrie then launches the full might of her powers to launch every utensil and knife at Dracula, striking him all over his body; the biggest knife stabs a final blow to the heart. The Prince of Darkness staggers, reaches out to Carrie in one final desparation, then falls dead to the floor.
Poor Carrie cries over her mother's dead body, horrified by what she's done. Sue tells her to look closer at Margaret's face, showing that the fangs have disappeared and her innocent face restored; she's now in peace. Sue pulls Carrie in a tearful embrace, reassuring her it's all over. And indeed it is: Count Dracula is once more a pile of dust.

How does that sound? Like the detail of the alternate story? Need I go on to the next one?

That sounds like a wonderful blend of Carrie and Dracula. I like how you stuck to the main "events" of the plot, but switched them enough to fit in with the vampire/Dracula theme.
